House Committee Funding Requests and Authorizations, 104th-113th Congresses
Matthew Eric Glassman
Analyst on the Congress
Pursuant to House Rule X, clause 6, the Committee on House Administration reports an omnibus, biennial “primary expense resolution” to cover the expenses of each standing and select committee, except the Appropriations Committee. The resolution is based, in part, on committee requests for funds to cover their necessary expenses for the two years of a Congress. In some cases, the Committee on House Administration may report a subsequent resolution, revising the authorzied amounts. This last occurred in 2012, when the committee-reported H.Res. 496 revised the authorizations for the second session of the 112th Congress. H.Res. 496 was passed by the House on February 1, 2012.
This report provides committee funding requests and authorizations as adopted pursuant to primary expense authorizations for House committees in the 104th through113th Congresses. For further information on the committee funding process, see CRS Report R42778, House Committee Funding: Description of Process and Analysis of Disbursements, by Matthew Glassman.
